Born in the village of Bajrawar in Punjab, Satinder Sartaj’s musical journey began as a child, listening to the wandering artists playing the flute and sarangi. He studied music, completing his Master, M.Phil, and Ph.D. with a specialization in Sufi poetry.

As a practicing music professor, Dr. Satinder Sartaj has taught in the Music Department at Punjab University for six years, inspiring the next generation of musicians and carrying forward the legacy of Punjabi-Sufi music.
